Walking Our Way To Success!
2010 5k Walk to End Violence Against Women

On June 5th, 2010, 120 metro Atlantans arrived at scenic Piedmont Park to support taking action to end violence against women and to have fun in the process!    Walkers enjoyed a warm up with Personal Trainer Angie Denkins, chair massages, face painting, had their blood pressure taken, warmed down with Anofit, won prizes and took home a great gift bag!

This year, our 6th, was the Georgia Chapter's best Walk yet. With 64% more registrants and 75% more funds raised for the cause, we exceeded our own expectations!  We hope that everyone who attended or volunteered enjoyed the event, will join us again next year and consider learning more about the Georgia Chapter and its upcoming events.

Thanks to all of our registrants for raising funds and attending the event, our sponsors for supporting us and our volunteers for making the 2010 Walk to End Violence Against Women a fantastic success!

Our event photographer captured many great shots of the event.  You can access the photos by clicking here.  Thanks, Jill!

We thank all our sponsors including: Yes! Magazine, Big Peach Running Company, Luna Bar, Bounce House, Anofit, Calming Caress, Clayton State University, Jinnie's Silpada Biz, Whole Foods, Veininnovations and Cool Jewelry Design!

3rd Annual Mother, Sister, Daughter Fundraiser
Benefits UNIFEM's Haiti Shelter Programme.

The 3rd annual Mother, Sister, Daughter fundraiser honoring International Women's Day was held Saturday March 6th at the Oglethorpe Museum of Art in Atlanta, GA.

This year we celebrated International Women's Day and the people, culture, and renewal of Haiti.  In light of the divasting earthquake in Haiti the Georgia Chapter was proud to contribute all proceeds from this year's event to UN Women's Haiti Shelter Programme.   The black-tie optional evening, promoting the work of local and national artists, featured a LIVE and silent auction, live music, dancing, and an authentic Haitian dinner.

We were pleased to have U.S. National Committee President Carol Poteat-Buchanan join us for this year's event, and wish to thank our advisory committee, sponsors, contributing artists, and attendees who helped make the evening such a success.  Thank you all.

What do Members Say About the International Lunch Series?

"I have attended most of the luncheons and thoroughly enjoy them, not because I like to eat, but because it gives me the opportunity to eat, meet and greet my sisters who share the same values as I do towards women. Also, we laugh, get serious about the cause and laugh again before we leave.  Get there on time and leave at your leisure.  Just an hour or two on a Saturday! I look forward to it as "me" time."...Member, Sharon Reid
