Endowment Fund
Background
Since 1976, UNIFEM has supported hundreds of projects and initiatives throughout the developing world that promote the political, economic, and social empowerment of women. UNIFEM/USNC is dedicated to UNIFEM’s mission; however, there has never been sufficient funding to support all of the worthy projects presented to UNIFEM.
UNIFEM/USA Responds
In 2002, UNIFEM/USNC established an Endowment Fund to create a steady flow of funding for UNIFEM’s vital and innovative projects around the world and to ensure the financial future for UNIFEM and UNIFEM/USNC. The Endowment Fund will address the difference between need and available funding, and when fully implemented, the Fund will amplify the Committee’s ability to contribute financial support to UNIFEM programs in a consistent manner.
