Last year, because of your efforts, we were able to raise about $14,000! We walk not only to educate and advocate. We walk to raise valuable funds to support UN Women programs which fight inequality and violence at its roots and provide support for women experiencing violence.
Each year, the Gulf Coast Chapter USNC for UN Women walks to raise awareness about violence against women – and to raise funds for programs to combat the problem. Why do we walk? Because women and girls continue to be harmed and exploited. Worldwide, 35% of women experience physical and/or sexual intimate violence during their lifetime. That’s more than one third of all women!
