Start Your Own U.S. National Committee for UN Women Chapter
We encourage you to create a local chapter of the U.S. National Committee for UN Women. Chapters are critical to our success as a National Committee because they reach out to members in towns, cities and states across the country to help with our fundraising and advocacy campaigns.

To start a local chapter of the U.S. National Committee for UN Women Committee in your community, you must:
- Have at least 15 dues paying members of the U.S. National Commitee fpr UN Women.
- Develop a name for the chapter that includes "[your chapter name] of the U.S. National Committee for UN Women"
- Adopt Bylaws for the chapter that mirror the Bylaws of the National Committee. Bylaws should be submitted to the National Office once completed.
- Elect a Board of Directors and Officers – only unpaid members of the U.S. National Committee may serve in this capacity.
- Review and have an understanding of the Chapter Development Handbook, Policies and Procedures, U.S. National Committee By-laws and the Recognition Agreement.
