Afghanistan: Ending Child Marriage

Engaged at just ten years old, Farzana was promised to a 50 year-old farmer, already married with six children. Child marriage is not an unusual practice in Afghanistan, it is an age-old custom. UNICEF is working with local religious leaders to help communities better understand the harmful implications of child marriage and how to better protect their children.
