The Fund for Gender Equality is UN Women’s grant-making unit, created to accelerate women’s political and economic empowerment by providing grants directly to women’s organizations and governmental agencies in developing countries.

Economic Empowerment: Our grantee programs focus on increasing women’s access to and control over resources and assets – including land, water, technology, and viable employment.

Political Empowerment: To achieve gender equality, women’s leadership and political participation must increase which is why the Fund provides grants for training women political candidates as well as voter and civic education programs.
