The Chicago Chapter of the US National Committee for UN Women invites you to Vice District on Monday, Nov. 27 for our second annual Gender Equality Awards celebration: Making Magic for Gender Equality! Join us for an unforgettable evening of food and drinks, amazing silent auction items (Bulls and Blackhawks tickets, anyone?), an awards ceremony honoring local changemakers working to end gender-based violence — and, yes, even a bit of magic! We’re thrilled to welcome guest speaker Pablo Castillo Diaz, a UN Women Policy Specialist focusing on sexual and gender-based violence, and Jeanette Andrews, an acclaimed local magician performing live magic throughout the evening. 2016 Gender Equality Awards Party at Lagunitas Brewing Company The USNC-UN Women Chicago Chapter hosted its inaugural awards ceremony celebrating those fighting for gender equality in the Chicagoland area on UN Day, Monday, Oct. 24, 2016. The awards recognized local men embodying the spirit of UN Women’s #HeForShe campaign. Thanks to our generous donors and attendees, over $2,100 was raised in support of UN Women’s hurricane relief efforts in Haiti. Read more about the event on our blog!
